anxiety

I'm writing a blog post about how scared I am of making a phonecall, instead of making a phonecall.

anxiety

@Corina I used to be so afraid of making phone calls that I got into trouble a lot. It took me lots of years to change it to a manageable level.

anxiety

@AzureKingfisher Yes, me too. I don't have it under control yet, but I have a living aide who can be present or make the phonecall for me, that helps. This time the living room is on vacation and I didn't want to wait another 2 weeks to find out my operationdate, so I was brave and made the call, after a few hours of procrastination.

anxiety

@Corina I hate phone calls, I get very anxious and tend to freeze up whenever I have to talk to almost anyone on the phone. I've paid a Comcast bill for four months after I switched to Verizon bc I was avoiding calling Comcast. I finally called them like a month ago and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was.
I've been thinking about going to therapy for a long time but the only way to make an appointment is to call.

@chad19135 maybe you can ask a friend or loved one to call for an apointement for you. They'll understand, espacially since your issue is phone anxiety. I have a living aide now, who sometimes makes phonecalls on my behave. Sometimes I have to confirm that I'm in the room, and I agree with him calling on my behave, but in all cases so far it was okay and treated as normal that someone else was calling instead of me.
