A Spring Poem

I know this can’t last forever
But deep in the secret places
of this momma’s heart
I hope
That you will never lose delight
in finding an earthworm
And that you will always call it
Friend.

On the fourth day he created the grain in the fields.
On the fifth day he created the sheep in the pastures and wood of the forrest.
On the sixth day he realised there were still no bricks and offerred 2 grain to trade.
Realising there was noone to trade with he created Man, who produced bricks and took the deal for grain.
On the seventh day finally God was able to build a settlement.
Then he surveyed all he had made and thought I should go for the longest road.

Richard Rohr on Feeling and Suffering

I was re-reading a chapter from Richard Rohr's Everything Belongs, and this quote really hit me hard:

"So much is happening on earth that cannot be fixed or explained, but it can be felt and suffered. I think a Christian is one who, along with Jesus, agrees to feel, to suffer the pain of the world."

I tend to react with outrage and anger, when in reality my first response should be to feel the pain, suffer alongside those who are suffering, and weep.

“The point of the Christian life is not to distinguish oneself from the ungodly, but to stand in radical solidarity with everyone and everything else. This is the intended effect of the Incarnation - symbolized by the cross, God’s great act of solidarity instead of judgement.” - Richard Rohr

We have a bunch of clothes with holes so I’m ripping them up and making a rug. And if that’s not a metaphor for my life right now, I don’t know what is.

I think its important that you all know that it was not Killmonger or T'Challa, but Nakia who was right.

Chapter 2 Love & Parenting

As a child, I always hated how my mom told me everything was theirs and I didn’t have any rights to any of my stuff. I grew up with justice being really important to me but I hadn’t connected the two before.
So now I’m considering what words I’m saying to my kids and how. What messages am I really sending? And what does loves/nurturing/kindness really look like during a toddler meltdown in the grocery store?!?

I used to be upset with God for my life not turning out to be the success I had planned. Today, I'm thankful for it.

My god is decolonial. My god stands with the oppressed and advocates for the downtrodden. My god sits with the impoverished. My god is a vast and glorious embodiment of love in its most radical forms- intimate with pain and antithetical to hatred.

You guys!! I think I won the parent lottery. Last night I got a text from my mom saying that they started watching the state of the union, but then turned it off to watch Harry Potter instead. ⚡

How are these the same people who bought me a purity ring, wouldn't let me play Zelda (because that's how you get possessed by demons) and had a vhs boxed set about how rock and roll was the work of Satan!?! I don't know the answer, but I'll take this version any day!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’m 22, just recently started my transition, I fix phones for work. Avid supporter of right to repair legislation, and I play music. I’m not very good at video games outside of Bloodborne and Risk of Rain. Listen to Thrice. I’d love it if Dustin Kensrue could be on an episode
