3. Over the course of the 2016 campaign he became a very polarizing figure. This may make him vulnerable to trump in a general election.
4. His policy ambitions are too extreme and thus may not be realistic.
5. Some of his online supporters were real assholes.
PLEASE share your best arguments for why it isnt time for president Bernie. I wont respond or argue. Im just trying to understand bec i've found myself overly convinced he's dope.

So I am a Bernie Sanders supporter. I really think he has for a long time identified problems correctly and proposed genuine solutions. Its my understanding that there's a lot of push back against his candidacy from centrists, liberals, and leftists alike. The arguments for why hes not a good candidate, that ive heard are.
1. He's quite old and a second term could be a stretch
2. He's quite white and so is out of touch with the concerns of some people of color.
Just listening to the new "Ask Science Mike" episode. your "confession of faith" is gonna be my new creed. verbatim. No editing or condensing. I'm sure that will make you uncomfortable so just know, I do not take creeds very seriously.
(1/2) My boss gave a talk at high school youth group about Christianity, and in it mentioned Christena Cleveland's work with Christ as Black Mother. He explained that more than just a Palestinian Jewish teacher, Christ can be a symbol for everyone suffering.
He got slapped on the wrist by the Family Ministry Director because "we shouldn't confuse kids or make them distrust the Bible, we should just use Scripture quotes to tell kids that God loves them."
(2/2) The director is well-intentioned, but she just can't understand the value of speaking nuance and metaphor into these kids' faith lives. She made my boss cancel our guest speakers who were going to talk about science/faith, patriarchy in the Bible, among other things; she's even monitoring what he talks about.
I'm really trying to lean into my inner peace and love to pour it into the situation, but it'd be so much more satisfying to rage-quit to make a statement.
Also, as a core audience member. My desire is for you to be as much @vishnu as you want, at any time. You make the call tho, its not like i'd see you as disingenuous or anything. Honestly, I live my life having to keep my inner "Vishnu" in check so I don't alienate my
