It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. How’s everyone doing?

I’ve been going to a United Methodist church for a little over a year now and I really like the people and the welcoming environment, so its really hard to hear the news that the UMC voted down measures for more inclusivity for people in the LGBTQ+ community. To all my LGBTQ+ brothers, sisters and non-gender conforming folks, know that I love and support you and that I’m always hear to listen to and encourage you. Stay strong!

PSA toot: do not give up on this platform because you are afraid you aren’t deep enough, or have the right book to recommend, or scientific theory to cite. You are welcome here. Playfulness, encouragement, and sharing joy - is welcome here.

Has anyone else read “Shameless” by Nadia Bolz-Weber? I just finished it today and it’s a resource I wish I had growing up in an evangelical household.

Book Recommendations:

Anyone have some books by people in the LGBTQ+ community that I should check out? Especially those written by people of faith? Trying to expand my library this year and learn about other people’s perspectives & stories.

How many of you still attend a church? And what denomination of church is it? I currently go to small, progressive United Methodist church. It’s a place where I don’t feel like an outsider because I have doubts or questions about faith and God.

@mike I did a social media fast last week and got off Twitter, IG and FB and it was one of the best weeks I’ve had mentally in a long time. What you were saying about Google and other big cooperations has me rethinking my relationship to them as well.

I never feel older than when I try to go shopping for clothes.
