My brother-in-law Andrew Drake wrote a book about being single that is such a treat. It would make a fun summer read. (Andrew is basically Larry David, real funny) Treat yourself to a good book: https://amzn.to/2Nn9l73
Y'all, my husband is still a worship pastor, tho we would prefer to be part of a more inclusive community. Financially & as far as work load goes, he has it pretty good, so he doesn't really want to leave. but I hate it. I would prefer to live a more authentic life, but that could get him fired. How do I cope with having to be careful what I say? Can s/1 help me understand how it's okay to keep "supporting" this institution? I'm an Enneagram 1 & really struggle with feeling I'm being fake.
I'm gonna vent. Gossip is so ugly.
A friend from our last ministry was talking about me to a group of ladies and it got back to me. Why are grown women so shitty? I am very careful not to gossip about others. That shit hurts. Every time. The worst is when they say, "Did you hear about so-and-so? OMG we need to pray for her." ๐๐๐
Today is Children's Day in China. I love the idea of celebrating children and what they offer the world. I recently started teaching with VIPKID, which is so fun, but also I believe we are doing something crucial in building relationships with people from a different culture. Our students are affluent and likely to be leaders in their country someday. Perhaps loving them now will make a difference then. ๐ https://www.advantour.com/china/holidays/children-day.htm
"As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has - or ever will have - something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression." - Fred Rogers
"I believe the church is called to the slow and difficult work of healing. We are called to enter into one anotherโs pain, anoint it as holy, and stick around no matter the outcome." -- #RHE #BecauseofRHE

I've been thinking about joining over here for a little bit now.... But honestly everything that happened with RHE really cemented that I need to do something.
Something.
Even if it's just starting to reach out.
We were never made to follow God alone, community has always been a part of it. RHE showed a lot of us that we weren't alone in our interpretations, no matter what our communities might say. And I feel it's only right to expand that community now to honor her.
So, I joined here.

Had a blast last night seeing Gungor, Brilliance, and Propaganda do a great show! It's wild looking back on the journey you've been on. I've been on a similar journey with you, and not being alone is so much better. (Sorry I cropped out David, didn't want to include the kids).
