Just pre-ordered Richard Rohr's "The Universal Christ". I've only read a few snippets of the book so far from Fr. Richard's daily meditations, and I can already tell it's going to be a mind-blowing read. Seriously can not wait for it to arrive!
Seriously though, as much as I like the Enneagram discussions and such.. One of the reasons that I also like the Liturgists podcast is the light heartedness that sometimes exists between @mike and @vishnu. I mean, I identify with what they both tend to laugh at.. and usually laugh along with them. Is there anyone else who has gone through deconstruction, but feels a bit like they came out on the other side, a much more light-hearted, (and honest) version of themselves??
I’m 10x more active on Mastodon than FB or Twitter. This community already feels like home. I’ve seen and been in many threads with very few disagreements, but the ones I have experienced have been graceful and understanding with a willingness to see from the others point of view.
Maybe it’s because it’s smaller. Maybe it’s because of the people. Maybe it’s because it’s new. Maybe it’s all of the above. But I feel welcome.
And I love it. I love it so much.
Thank you @mike
I believe the fact that there aren’t more clergy members who are publicly open and affirming of LGBTQI people is more of a financial problem than a theological one. PSA toot: do not give up on this platform because you are afraid you aren’t deep enough, or have the right book to recommend, or scientific theory to cite. You are welcome here. Playfulness, encouragement, and sharing joy - is welcome here. #TheLiturgists
Affirmations for anxiety
I am safe.
I am loved & cared for.
Nothing I do or say can change the fact that I am inherently worthy of love.
I can lovingly accept what I am feeling without it controlling me.
I will be gentle with myself when I am feeling overwhelmed.
I am alive, breathing, and grounded to the present.
I am strong, brave, and resilient.
This feeling is not forever—it will pass.
Maintaining a loving atmosphere wherever you are, is the foundation for life.
