Pinned toot

Hey all, I wanted to let you know I am going to let this account and my account on sunbeam go dark for a bit.

I’ll be at @peculiarwarmth and I share here because my goal there will be to be less like the inside of my head and more like I am on the outside. I love the inside of my head but IRL I don’t shout random jokes and thoughts into the air and I’d like to build more intentional community online considering where I am at.

If you’d like to interact with me please follow there ❤️

"To be human is to experience separation of things - the challenge is not to fill that lack but to turn it into something beautiful."

"Then we understand that rebellion cannot exist without a strange form of love. Those who find no rest in God or in history are condemned to live for those who, like themselves, cannot live: in fact, for the humiliated. The most pure form of the movement of rebellion is thus crowned with the heart-rending cry of Karamazov: if all are not saved, what good is the salvation of one only?"

Human progress:
1 Come up with a solution to a problem.
2 Use that solution to solve other problems.
3 New solutions cause old solutions to become obsolete.
4 Refuse to give up old solutions.
5 New problems are created from continual use of old solutions.
6 New solutions are created for new problems.
7 Finally throw out some old solutions as they are clearly unnecessary.
8 Old problems resurface, start over at number 1 and repeat.

I was raised Evangelical Presbyterian, found a lovely church that taught Christian Universalism in early adulthood and through lots of podcasts, Sociological theory, and Taoism - I now sometimes feel comfortable with being nothing and sometimes with being everything.

I haven’t been listening to podcasts much and haven’t listened to This America Life in a long while.... and then this one pops up. *sigh*

Also, at some point I am going to get my blog set up on here so I’ll share that when it is up to. I plan to do more long form thoughts there only.

Starting to migrate over to @peculiarwarmth

I have decide for my own sake to really change how I interact on Mastodon... So my new account is probably going to be a lot fewer toots and more intentional.

I will probably leave this one open for awhile but my ultimate goal is to delete.

I mean I get it... but a bit annoyed at the Bono quote

So the narrowed down list of possible topics for my summer class contains none of the ones I wanted. So can you all help me pick the least boring? And this from a Sociology perspective... Comment subtopic ideas too please (if you can’t see poll choices are mental health, cults, relationships, environmental issues)

Thanks for doing my hw for me 😘

My husband says he is one of the voices in the chorus of “oh oh”s in Gungor’s I Am Mountain but I still don’t believe him...

I'll try to ask this without sounding like a fool. I'm realizing my entertainment choices (books, movies, music, TV, etc.) have been very... white. What are your recommendations for more diverse choices?

Liturgist meta

Sometimes I picture a yin-yang symbol on the center of each person’s chest. It usually just clicks around between yin and yang and sometimes people struggle to keep it in one particular position.

But when a person feels Love, real Love, the wheel spins so hard and so fast that it lifts their feet off the ground.

That’s freedom.

Allowing anyone to walk into your building is not the same as being welcoming!
