Who else is here at the El Rey for the final Gungor show?!

@amal My parents work very hard to this day, but they've never had much money.
When I was in 8th grade, Grandma Mitchell came to stay with us over Christmas break. This was unusual.
My brother and sister and I would check out under the tree, and this year it looked sparse. We figured whatever we got would be enough.
When we opened our presents, they were suitcases with tickets to Disney.
What a fun family surprise!

I have an extra ticket to the show tonight. Anyone on here interested in it? Also would love to say hi to anyone on here who is going. Mastodon meet up at the venue?

Hello! New to this platform. I would love to connect with those headed to the Portland Tabs and Wafers! Possibly start a little community for those in the area?

Hello! I don't really do social media but I wanted to ask here if there's any people planning to do meet-ups before or after Tabs and Wafers in Boulder?

actually learning about the history of christianity is the most dangerous thing possible to evangelicalism, which is a reactionary ideology that seeks to erase history so it can make the ridiculous claim that its very particular brand of morality and theology is the true form of christianity that has always existed

In praise of respectful discourse

I just finished a great book, "The Journal of Best Practices: A Memoir of Marriage, Asperger Syndrome, and One Man's Quest to Be a Better Husband". It was an interesting glimpse into how one man with autism went about improving his relationships with his wife and kids and enjoying his life more. David Finch is a good writer and seems like a very interesting person.

I made a new friend today, thanks to the Liturgists! Yay!

Nerdy Bible comment on Revelation

Today's worship music is by The Steve Miller Band. "I'm a picker. I'm a grinner. I'm a lover, and I'm a sinner. I play my music in the sun. I'm a joker. I'm a smoker. I'm a midnight toker. I sure don't want to hurt no one." It is a perfectly gorgeous, sunny day in my little suburb of ATL, and I am feeling fine! Enjoying THIS.

Easter image - Orthodox icon

If someone greets you with "Alleluia! Christ is risen!", the traditional response is, "He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!" I probably should have mentioned this earlier, for those who are thinking of going to their first Easter at a mainline church.

BTW, Martin Luther said and wrote some horrible, horrible things in his lifetime. He also wrote and said some beautiful, profound and brilliant things. He was all about paradox, that guy.

"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." - Martin Luther. This time of year, the cycle of all the Universe is on display. The wave rises, breaks on the shore, vanishes, yet the ocean is still filled with waves. The mushrooms spring from the stump of the long-gone tree. Last year's dandelions are no more, but dandelion sprouts are eternal. I breathe out. I breathe in.

Alternative to substitution atonement

I wanted an Ask Science Mike logo t-shirt to wear to Dragon con in September, but there are none for sale. Took advantage of a day off to create some fan art from a thrift store t-shirt and some fabric paint. I'm pretty happy with it. @mike

How can I find other instances on this platform? I need an online support group after watching that season finale of last night!
