Hey Liturgists, anyone know if there's a PO box or something to which we can send letters for our favourite podcast hosts?

Coworkers were talking about the communion packets with a plastic shot glass of wine sealed on the top and a wafer stuck to it, and I said "Talk about 'Mass' production!"

They didn't appreciate it as much as they should've so now you guys need to

Remember capitals in hastags for our visually impaired friends.
E.g. if you type text to voice programs may not recognise the words so will spell it out. If you type the two words will be recognised and communicated. It makes it faster for them to read a comment.

I'm curious - what web browsers do ya'll use? I've been experimenting with search engines other than Google that are committed to not tracking your searches and have found Duck Duck Go to be pretty good, but using it on Google Crome kind of defeats the point.

Deafness and Podcasts

@Schusfuster @Abbie @heidi @nathanc @Allison @Corina @Wesley @DevSorrell

Thank you thank you thank you to all of you who were quick to offer help on a project like this. @mike and @vishnu have posted that this is already in the works but is taking some time, as it is a MASSIVE undertaking to transcribe all of the audio that has been released. I boosted their responses if you want to read them. Again, thank you lovely humans! So glad we can connect on here.

Deafness and Podcasts

@nathanc @vishnu We're in the process of having all our episodes edited so we can re-upload them all and transcribe them. It's a HUGE project, but will get done in the next few months.

From that point forward, every episode will have a transcript posted with a week of its debut.

The problem is we didn't realize we needed to do this until we already had hundreds of hours of audio out there. I'm not excusing it--I'm just saying solving the problem now take serious resources.

@aileen thanks for this! We have always wanted this and are actually working towards it by getting this associate producer to help with some of the work load

Deafness and Podcasts

I have a couple dear friends who are deaf or are hard-of-hearing, and find listening to podcasts almost impossible. This has been difficult particularly when it comes to the Liturgists - they would love to be a part of this community, but are unable to consume the main form of media that the community is based on, making it difficult.

I've seen podcasts put out transcripts of episodes; has there ever been talk of this for the Liturgists? Any other thoughts or ideas?

Hey socially awkward types, do these networking tips help? 😂

Question about pronouns

@Laura_I PS. It's better to just talk about "pronouns", rather than "preferred pronouns", as "preferred" kinda sends the message that it's frivolous -- like trans people get preferred pronouns while cis people get normal ones

Enneagram

I know some of you enneagram nerds out there listen to the Sleeping at Last podcast, but in case you haven't heard of it I highly recommend it. It is the single best enneagram resource I have come across to date. It has transformed my understanding of the enneagram as a whole, helps me empathize with types I struggle to understand, and gives a much more fair description of types who seem to regularly get the short end of the stick, notably 4s and 6s. Oh, and the songs are beautiful.

Just finished listening to the first Buddhism episode and deeply appreciated Bushi's thoughtful and compassionate words. I'm sitting with this idea in particular today:

"The Gospel is not the problem. The Gospel is a good gospel, whether it is interpreted correctly or incorrectly. It's interpretation is of insignificance. Understanding is not a requisite for for cooperation with other human beings when they are suffering."
