So...is this where I go to toot out grief and anger about Twitter and Facebook reacting to my posts about migrants/refugees? Is there a separate instance for that? 😂😭😵

Mastodon Liturgists Instance says yes.

I wrote a song about migrant mothers and babies being separated at the border. t.co/kBufLn0Ojg?amp=1

Predictably, Facebook responses include accusations that I don’t care about American children being safe, that migrant parents are “in it for the money”....which is honesty the most mind boggling of all responses to me.

I try but I just can’t understand how anybody reacts that way. Is empathy dead?

Nothing new is going to be said here. I am not even surprised. Just tired of hitting this wall with people endlessly.

@audreyassad thank you so much for your work, your voice, your transparency, your love, & your humility even in the midst of the ridiculousness! Much love 🖤✌🏽❤️

@audreyassad this song is breathtaking 😭❤️

@audreyassad Thank you for this song. The amount of hate and fear and lack of compassion from so many people is overwhelming. Thank you for speaking out even if it doesn't seem like anyone is listening

@audreyassad ugh. I literally had the same sort of reaction on my last (probably literally last) fb post. I don’t know how people can’t see through the facade of fear based politics with this ridiculous wall. I don’t know the statistics, but I think it’s way more likely to be assaulted or shot by a white dude than the immigrants from *any* country 😑

@audreyassad - Yeah, this a good place to air your grief. So far, this seems to be a really safe space. So different from Facebook, where even the most basic posts, offering compassion to those in need, turn into politicized arguments. Here, I've found support, encouragement, and empathy.
