Struggling with trans-inclusive language

I find these two things active in my mind:

1) My entrenched notion of language is not more important than actual people who may be harmed by it.
2) Language like “assigned female people” or “uterus-having people” feels alien and impersonal to me.

In light of (1), what are some ways you deal with (2)? Where do you see the language around these topics converging over time? Are there any analogues from history that would be instructive?

2-year-old: "I'M NOT SLEEPY I'M NOT SLEEPY I-" *flops over*

5-year-old: Time is an illusion. Naptime, doubly so.

@vishnu I'm all of two chapters in to THIS, and it's like meeting you for the first time, free of assumption or context, nothing but the radiance and wonder of enjoying this absurd, glorious existence with you.

I think I unwittingly became one of the people @mike described who stopped being able to see your heart somewhere along the way. So: 1) I'm sorry; 2) thank you; and 3) I'm really grateful to be able to see your heart again, and I'm looking forward to more of that in the rest of THIS. <3

Dear @vishnu. Dear, dear @vishnu. Where to begin.

Following your work and your perspective on the world, though at times I've found a deep resonance and kinship, at other times I've often found myself struggling to connect. For one reason or another, it has seemed that you were speaking a language I couldn't quite grasp, or something. I don't have a great handle on why.

However, it also seems I forgot what a fucking delight it is to read your writing. Damn.

.@selfcare_gentle keeps telling me to take a nap, and like I KNOW but I have THINGS to DO but I really should. :lolsob:

@mike third time's the charm with your advertising efforts - my five-year-old daughter loved her first kiwi box and we're looking forward to the one that's coming for her younger sister :)

UMC Traditional Plan details

Has anyone come across a good overview of exactly what was passed yesterday (“as amended”), what amendments were made, what about it still remains unconstitutional, and what the sum policy outcome is likely to actually happen as a result of portions of it are nullified?

UMC General Conference day 2

Today started off good. Then went to shit fast. Some of you are going to be like no shit, but I was let down by my Church today. It decided to prioritize hate. I was saved by my local church though, they were texting me & sending me love. Those people are the church. Fuck the legislative body that doesn’t know me & feels like they can tell me how to live my life. The church are the people that support & love me.

Anyways, here’s the post:

LGBTQ Community & The Church

Some of you said you wanted to follow the information on my blog out of The UMC’s General Conference. I did a pre-conference post. The next one will be up at the end of the day on saturday.

For those interested and following my Bible translation project, we are 73% funded!!!! WE ARE SO CLOSE!!! 🎉❤️👏🏻 Here’s the link to pledge and get more information:

Also I promise I won’t self promote after this Kickstarter is over. Thank you for your grace!!! 😊

Evangelical bullshit

I found myself looking at a Relevant article which basically quotes the Gungor breakup blog without adding anything... only to see this linked article below it and NOPE the fuck out:

"Here's the trailer for the Planned Parenthood movie from the God's Not Dead team"

A rare use of this particular emoji from me: 🤮

Hey @vishnu will the OWL Trilogy be rereleased on Spotify or available on vinyl again?

Also also: I named my own musical project The Great Homesickness - yes, after the Rilke poem, but _because_ of the Gungor song. It expresses the deepest longing of my stubbornhearted hope, in two perfect minutes.
