Found this while cleaning up my filesโ€”from "The Moon in Lleyn" by R. S. Thomas, which speaks to me more and more as my reconstruction inches forward. You can read the full poem here: exploringnorthwales.blogspot.c

Rainbow Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) trees, native to Southeast Asia, look like something from a fairytale. Their beautiful trunks are a result of how their bark grows.

As the trees grow, they shed flakes of bark, revealing bright green, young bark underneath. Slowly, this fresh bark ages and fades though a variety of colours โ€“ blue, purple, pink, orange, and finally a dark maroon colour. This final dark coloured bark falls away, repeating the cycle.

Still the hardest thing ever for me: Giving up on a book I'm reading if it's just not grabbing me. You'd think with 600+ tomes on my "to-read" list, I'd be over that by nowโ€”after all, I can't possibly get to all the Good Stuff waiting for me if I'm wasting time on the Meh. And yet! I feel so much GUILT shelving an unfinished book.

Before we can become who we really are, we must become conscious of the fact that the person who we think we are, here and now, is at best an imposter and a stranger.
- Thomas Merton

This is Jinx. She's only been with us for 2.5 weeks, and already she's changed our lives for the better.

Note to self:
None of us are getting out alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.
Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you're carrying in your heart like a hidden treasure.
Be silly. Be weird. Be kind. There's no time for anything else.

Hi folks! Just another liminal/evolutionary/contemplative/mystical/universalist Christian tumbling down the rabbit hole. Letting my intuition guide me for the first time since I was a kid, and it's so freeing. Fascinated by other world religions/traditions. Also , , .

I work as a research comms guru for an R1 university, where I'm also pursuing an MA in literature at a snail's pace. When no one's looking, I work on my novel.

Happy to be here.
