Liturgists (and onlookers), are you participating in #ClimateStrike this week and next? How so?
My work has given us the 20th and 27th off to get involved. I work for an awesome small business but work remotely in a very small town. Not sure whether demonstrations are planned here yet, but I think the schools are involved. I'm going to get out on the streets with a sign and/or raise some awareness on my socials.
I cannot process RHE being gone. I always enjoyed hearing her talk on the podcasts and explain complex issues in a way that made sense and allowed them to be applied to everyday life. I cannot imagine the pain and grief that her family is going through. Her voice will be greatly missed in this universe. 😥
Art is not about theological indoctrination. It is not a didactic process where inventiveness and imaginative formation are pulled up as if they were weeds choking a spiritual life.
Instead of a tribal adherence to behavioral conformities and ideologies, it reveals the heartbeat of others that transcends the thin veneer of our senses and rational constructs.

Hey everybody so instagram deleted Jamie Lee Finch’s account bc she was reported so much for sharing the cover of her new book, which features the body of a woman (GASP). Nipples not even exposed (regardless of that bullshit policy). If you’re on other social media would you join me in raising a damn stink to IG about this instafuckery?
evangelical christians and anger
Hi all! I don't really know how to work this thing still....
But I have a question:
I get a lot of pushback from evangelicals about how "angry" I am and how it is sinning to "judge others" when I am calling out injustice.
How do you (regardless of your religion) view righteous anger in your theology or lack thereof?
I'm listening to the #Robcast. Rob is talking about being in #church as a teenager and catching how a #pastor does the whole "bow your heads/close your eyes" and "if you just prayed that #prayer to accept #Jesus, raise your hand so only I can see" and of course then he does the whole "I see a hand there... Oh I see that hand... Etc" even though there are no raised hands. I caught a pastor doing that once and haven't really trusted a pastor since.
@Ralf Being alone is a scary place. At the end of my deconstruction, there was nothing. No one around me understood what it was. Neither did I. Even those who helped me during that time weren’t there when I came to the end of it. It wasn’t until reconstruction began that I didn’t feel alone anymore. But one can’t rebuild unless one destroys. At least, that’s my experience.
Rant about Christianity
I am so done with white, cishet, conservative Christianity. I’m done with those who subscribe to this brand of Christianity, and vehemently deny the instrinsic oppression it is rooted in & thrives on. I don’t think it’s possible to truly love your neighbor while simultaneously partaking in a brand of religion that actively excludes and oppresses your neighbor. I want to be loving and kind toward people I disagree with, but today I’m just straight up angry.
Good night, friends. #petsofliturgists
