A lot of you might already know about this site (I just stumbled across it), but I think it's a great resource and wanted to share: https://www.organism.earth/library/
@vishnu This was a really fun and interesting way to frame the idea. It helped me to think about this stuff in a way I hadn't before.
I've been thinking about the idea of art as therapy. Julia Cameron (author of The Artist’s Way) refers to the “inner artist” as a child. I think that’s true, and that drawing (or any creative endeavor) is a tool that the brain develops in early childhood to adapt to the world and survive existence. A lot of creators feel an unstoppable urge to create, and maybe it’s because that jolt of “inspiration” is really the subconscious trying to tell the conscious mind something that it needs to hear.
@SchrodingersCuriousCat I'm in Dallas!
I've had a lot of fun reading Ken Johnson's "Ball and Cone" comics and I wanted to share them here because I think you all will appreciate them: http://ballandcone.tumblr.com/
@whateveryouart Great question. I really like torrential rain. The kind that makes you stop what you're doing and notice nature with all your senses.
@vishnu This was one of my favorite episodes. Really got my brain jiggling.
@whateveryouart Thanks man. Yours is great too - and you're very prolific!
@whateveryouart Thanks for posting this David! I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of art is being made by members of this community (I go by thpffbt on twitter and instagram, which is where you can find my stuff).
Currently translating my experience with religion into an animated short film (as therapy).
